EVENT DETAILS
In partnership with Tinerii Clasici and Cu Drag de Transilvania, we invite you to explore the fascinating world of medieval European literature through a special online course dedicated to one of its most enduring themes: how ancient texts reflected the image of the stranger, the foreigner, and the other.
Our guest for this event is Professor Levente Seláf, a scholar working at the Université Côte d’Azur in Nice and Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest, bringing an international academic perspective to a subject that reaches far beyond the medieval page.
Together, we will journey through works born in the Latin and Germanic West, as well as in the complex worlds of Byzantium and the Ottoman sphere — discovering how the perception of the “other” shaped fundamental worldviews and influenced the very geopolitical dynamics of the age.
The course will be held in English on 30 April 2026, starting at 20:00 (Bucharest/GMT+2), and will include an interactive Q&A session to facilitate direct dialogue between participants and the invited scholar.
Participation is open to everyone passionate about cultural history. The event takes place on Zoom — simply fill in the registration form to secure your spot.
