KEY THINGS TO KNOW
Before Travelling
- First and foremost, be sure to carefully review the project’s Infopack. It contains essential details about your travel arrangements, accommodation, and daily schedule.
- Next, check that your passport or national ID is valid, and confirm whether you require a visa for entry into the destination country.
- We also strongly advise obtaining valid health insurance coverage for the duration of your trip. Options include the free European Health Insurance Card or a private policy.
- Finally, keep all receipts and documents related to your travel—such as flight tickets, boarding passes, invoices, and any other transportation tickets—as these will be needed for reimbursement of your expenses.
- Additional general guidelines on travel conditions can also be found in the project’s Infopack.
Accomodation
The hosting organization will arrange suitable accommodation for you throughout the project duration. Typically, this means sharing double or triple rooms equipped with a private bathroom and shower.
Important: If you intend to arrive before the official project start date or depart after the end date, you will need to organize your own lodging and meals. Additionally, please limit any extra stay to no more than 2-3 days beyond the project dates. If you’re unsure, contact your project leader or your hosting organisation.
General information about acommodation can also be found in the project’s infopack.
Meals
You will be provided with three meals every day, plus two coffee breaks in between.
In case you require a special diet (e.g. vegetarian) or have allergies, please inform your group leader or the hosting organization at least one month in advance before the project start date.
Plan ahead
Compare flight options for the best prices before booking. Check baggage limits when packing. Also, bring Romanian snacks/drinks (like chocolate, cookies, marzipan, or snaps) for the Intercultural Evening and something representative to share your culture!
Train travel is eco-friendly and reduces your carbon footprint. Europe’s rail network is excellent—check Eurail.com for passes covering up to 33 countries.
Driving your own car is not recommended. If you do, ensure proper insurance, as rules vary by country.
Don’t worry! Ask help!
After you will be selected for an Erasmus+ Exchange, our staff will help yout through a couple of online meetings before!
